Our journey of being into the business of Industrial Minerals is a decade old story. The visionary man behind this business Mr. S. L. Chohan started the business as a Mine Owner of Rare and Rich Minerals Pyrophyllite and Sillimanite. With his vision and hard work, in 1982 Shri Kailash Khanij Udhyog was established and incorporated as a sole business with a single processing plant which was a step ahead to come closer to its end users. The name "Shri Kailash Khanij Udhyog" is a Hindi name where 'Shri Kailash' stands for sacred peaks of Himalayas which are known to be the residing place of Lord Shiva, according to Hindu Mythology and the name is derived from famous temple of 'Kailashpuri' near Eklingji, where our mines are located. 'Khanij' in Hindi refers to 'Rich Minerals’ and 'Udhyog' means 'business'.

So with the blessings of Lord Shiva, the process of delivering rich minerals from our mines to processing it as fine powder in our factories continues.

And with the hand over of business from S. L. Chohan to his elder son Mr. Ashok Chohan, the story of growth and development continues, with increased plant capacity to three processing units, new mines and quarries, diversification in new industrial minerals, establishing Kailash Khanij as a quality player both in Global and Local markets.
