It is one of the most abundant rocks forming mineral in nature and comprises of group of Minerals containing Aluminum Silicates with Potassium, Sodium and Calcium or mixtures of these elements. The common Feldspar is Potassium Feldspar namely Orthoclase K₂O. Al₂O_3. SiO₂. Sodium Feldspar is Albite Na₂O, Al₂O₃, 6SiO₂.

Uses and Application:

1. In body composition of several types of Porcelain, China and Earthenware and also in the preparation of Glazes and Enamel.
2. As an important ingredient in the Glass Sand Batch.
3. As a bonding agent in the manufacture of bonded abrasives like wheels and discs of Garnet, Corundum and Emery etc.
4. The Glass and Vitrified Ceramic industries are the major Consumers of Feldspar and account for 95% of the total consumption.
